In response to the pressing need for an alternative route to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) established by the A strategic project has been started by the Public Works Department (PWD) at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhadsa, Jhajjar. The project involves the construction of a 9-kilometer road that will connect the NCI-AIIMS campus to the Upper Dwarka Expressway in Sector 102, Gurugram.

**Connecting Communities and Institutions**

The Upper Dwarka Expressway, a master sector road that runs parallel to the Dwarka Expressway from Sector 99 to Sector 114, extending further to Najafgarh Road in Delhi near Chawla, will serve as the focal point for this development. This new road will also seamlessly link with the Dwarka Expressway, ensuring efficient connectivity between the NCI-AIIMS campus, Gurugram, and Delhi.

**Addressing Traffic Congestion**

The necessity for an alternative route to the cancer hospital stems from the current situation where residents must navigate the congested road from Basai to Badli to reach the NCI facility. The narrow width of this route has led to persistent congestion issues.

**Project Specifications**

As per the PWD's plan, the proposed road will span 9 kilometers and comprise six lanes. The land required for the road will be acquired through the e-bhoomi portal. Notably, the carriageway will extend 100 meters in width, with a right of way of 45 meters and a central verge, ensuring efficient traffic flow.

**Land Acquisition Progress**

The project necessitates approximately 102.33 acres of land from six villages, with approximately 76% of landowners having already provided their consent for land acquisition. The next crucial step involves initiating discussions with landowners to determine the rate per acre for land acquisition.

**Key Villages Involved**

The required land will be acquired from the following villages: Bhadsa, Iqbalpur, Mankdola, Budhera, Dhankot, and Kherki Majra.

**Budget Allocation**

The estimated budget for this project stands at ₹272.14 crore. Of this amount, ₹206.75 crore will be allocated for land acquisition, while ₹65.39 crore will be dedicated to the road's construction.




**Land Acquisition Details**

For the construction, land will be acquired through the e-bhoomi portal as follows: 17.5 acres from Khedki Majra, 13.37 acres from Dhankot, 24.02 acres from Budhera, 35.6 acres from Mankdola, 6.6 acres from Iqbalpur, and 5.24 acres from Badhsa.

**Enhancing Connectivity at Dwarka Expressway Junction**

To further enhance connectivity, a realignment plan at the junction with Dwarka Expressway in Sector 102 has been approved by the government.

**Benefits Beyond Cancer Patients**

The advantages of this alternative link road extend beyond cancer patients. Commuters traveling between Badli, Najafgarh, Gurugram, and Delhi will significantly benefit from this new route. Presently, they primarily rely on the congested Najafgarh road for their daily commutes. Moreover, several neighboring villages will also experience improved connectivity and accessibility.

**Future Expansion and Development**

This project is in alignment with Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal's vision to connect the National Cancer Institute-AIIMS in Jhajjar to the Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport via Dwarka Expressway, marking a significant stride in regional connectivity. Furthermore, plans are underway to transform the hospital campus into a self-sustaining mini city, complete with shopping centers, schools, and various amenities.
